The Role
As a Senior Chargeback Analyst, you will lead the chargeback function from a strategic and operational standpoint, owning dispute management, performance optimization, and prevention initiatives across card networks and payment processors.
In this role, you will act as the functional lead of the Chargeback area, ensuring quality, consistency, and effectiveness. You will be responsible for defining best practices, optimizing workflows, improving win rates, and protecting company revenue through data‑driven decision‑making and cross‑functional collaboration.

- Own the review, analysis, and response of chargebacks across multiple processors and card networks, ensuring timely and compliant dispute handling.
- Define and continuously optimize chargeback strategies to improve win rates and reduce financial losses.
- Identify chargeback patterns, root causes, and systemic issues impacting chargeback ratios.
- Identify inefficiencies in chargeback workflows and propose process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Review, refine, and standardize evidence templates and dispute responses to maximize clarity, compliance, and effectiveness.
- Actively contribute to the evolution of internal chargeback tools and dashboards.
- Track and analyze key chargeback KPIs (chargeback ratios, win/loss rates, reason codes, triggers).
- Prepare and present monthly and quarterly chargeback performance reports with actionable insights.
- Support data extraction and analysis to inform fraud prevention and loss reduction strategies.
- Work closely with Fraud, Customer Experience, Operations, and Data teams to address operational, product, or service issues driving chargebacks.
- Partner with the fraud prevention team to detect and mitigate chargeback fraud.
- Coordinate priorities and improvements with the Chargeback Analyst, ensuring alignment and consistency.
- Escalate bugs, enhancements, and fixes related to Chargeback Tableau dashboards to the Data team.
- Ensure all chargeback processes align with evolving card network rules and monitoring program thresholds.
- Maintain and update chargeback training materials, best practices, and internal documentation.
- Act as the internal reference point for chargeback‑related knowledge and decision‑making.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Engineering or a related field (preferred)
- Proven experience in chargebacks and fraud prevention
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Advanced Excel, with the ability to create reports)
- Tableau or Power Bi knowledge
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform accordingly
- Detail‑oriented with a strong sense of urgency
- Self‑driven, constant learner and motivated to give the best of themself
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) with excellent communication skills
- Proactive mindset with strong ownership: ability to anticipate risks, identify opportunities, and surface insights independently
