Overview

AgWest Farm Credit is a member‑owned financial cooperative that provides financing and related services to farmers, ranchers, agribusinesses, commercial fishermen, timber producers, rural homeowners and crop insurance customers in the Western United States.

Location & Team

We are searching for a Loan Specialist I or Loan Specialist II to join our Credit Resolution Team in Tulare or Rocklin, California. This full‑time position reports to the Manager of Credit Resolution and is accountable for supporting distressed accounts and high‑profile loans.

After an initial in‑office training period, this position is eligible for workplace flexibility and a one‑time home office stipend. Employees are expected to continue working from their office location a minimum of 50% – 60% of the time depending on location.

Compensation
  • Level I – Rocklin, CA
    • Typical starting range: $46,200 – $59,500
    • Full base salary: $46,200 – $66,200
    • Annual performance‑based incentive target: 6% of base
  • Level II – Rocklin, CA
    • Typical starting range: $50,400 – $67,300
    • Full base salary: $50,400 – $75,700
    • Annual performance‑based incentive target: 6% of base
  • Level I – Tulare, CA
    • Typical starting range: $44,200 – $57,500
    • Full base salary: $44,200 – $64,200
    • Annual performance‑based incentive target: 6% of base
  • Level II – Tulare, CA
    • Typical starting range: $48,400 – $64,500
    • Full base salary: $48,400 – $72,600
    • Annual performance‑based incentive target: 6% of base
Job Requirements
  • Perform routine credit activities and provide administrative support to ensure effective customer service through loan servicing, sound credit extension, and related services.
  • Assist the account team in completing financial and loan input documents, verifying customer information, and completing credit investigations and analysis for risk management review and action.
  • Comply with closing requirements and disbursements; book and certify loans within authorities.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and process customer transactions including checks and receipts, future payment funds, etc.
  • Perform intermediate to advanced administrative functions including MS Office 365 suite usage and digital file maintenance.
  • Ensure customer information is handled with a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Follow information security protocols to prevent unauthorized transactions.
  • Perform all duties and maintain standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Attention to detail and knowledge of correct spelling, grammar, and sentence structure in producing accurate reports, documents, and correspondence.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively on multiple projects in multiple software programs.
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Solid interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
Preferred Requirements
  • Training in general office skills.
  • Experience in consumer lending, banking, or related field.
  • General knowledge of applicable credit laws and regulations.
  • General knowledge of agricultural practices.
  • Knowledge of credit investigation and verification practices.
  • Knowledge of platting and legal descriptions.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and processes.
