** Financial Stability Group**, the team responsible for safeguarding New Zealand’s financial system. As an
** Advisor**, you will lead projects, work streams and analytical initiatives that shape policy and operational insights across the Bank. Your work will inform decision-making at senior levels, strengthen engagement with industry and public sector stakeholders, and drive thought leadership in your areas of this role you will:
* Lead analytical, policy, and research projects, guiding and coaching junior colleagues.
* Prepare clear, high-quality advice and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
* Engage and influence senior leaders across RBNZ, government, industry, and international peers.
* Provide subject matter expertise to strengthen organisational knowledge and decision-making.
* Contribute to cross-Bank initiatives, embedding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
* Build strong professional relationships and foster collaboration across the Bank.
* Support your manager in prioritising work programmes and deputise as required.**Ō pūkenga – About you
** To be successful in this role you will bring:
* At least 7 years’ professional experience in public policy, regulation, financial services, or a related field.
* Degree in economics, finance, law, or a related discipline.
* Proven track record delivering complex policy, analytical, or financial projects.
* Strong interpersonal skills to influence and build trust with diverse stakeholders.
* Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-specialist audiences.
* Experience coaching or mentoring colleagues and leading small teams.
* Solid understanding of domestic and global economic issues.
* Knowledge of government processes, legislation, and Cabinet decision-making.
* Sound judgement, holistic thinking, and ability to identify policy-relevant issues.
* Demonstrated knowledge and application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
* Eligibility to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of NZ National Security Clearance.
