Job Title: FP&A Analyst

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000

Summary

Agile Defense is an award-winning business with an immediate opening for an experienced FP&A Analyst in government contracting responsible for all project financial functions to include budgeting, variance analysis, and reporting for government and commercial contracts.

The candidate will develop and analyze actual costs and commitments, prepare functional review presentations, and produce financial deliverables as required for internal and external use. This position interfaces cross-functionally with members of Finance, Accounting, Contracts, Pricing, and Procurement. It reports to the VP of FP&A and is located in Northern VA. Remote work is possible, but preference is for East Coast time zone.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly functional review presentations, analyze KPI metrics, and assist the VP of FP&A as required.
  • Contribute to the build-out of a dynamic web-based forecasting tool to help streamline forecasting cycles.
  • Report on indirect cost performance by department, including analysis of MTD, YTD, and YE in comparison to forecast cycles and vs budget.
  • Review all indirect AP invoices to ensure compliance with disclosure statements and that Purchase Requests are set up correctly with adequate funding; validate Project IDs and Account IDs.
  • Work with Accounting to validate monthly cost accruals; review detailed costs to ensure accuracy in recording; prepare correction forms for non-labor adjustments; coordinate with employees for required labor corrections.
  • Assist the VP of FP&A with annual budget preparation.
Qualifications Required Certifications / Education, Background, and Years of Experience
  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
  • 2-5+ years' experience in Project Finance and/or Accounting in a government contracting environment.
Additional Skills
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, motivated and able to multitask in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite; proficiency in advanced Excel is essential. Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint/Reporting.
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to interact and communicate, both oral and written, with individuals across the organization.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of processes and procedures in financial analysis.
Working Conditions
  • Environmental Conditions:

    Possible off-hours work to support needs of the business.
  • Strength Demands:
    Light – 20 lbs maximum lifting; frequent lift/carry up to 10 lbs; standing/walking as needed.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Stand or sit; walk; use hands/fingers to handle or feel; see.
