Island H2O Water Park is seeking a detail-driven and organized Finance Assistant to support the Controller and Staff Accountant with daily financial operations at our Home Office. This role is essential to keeping our fast-paced water park running smoothly by ensuring accurate financial records, timely processing, and strong internal controls. SPECIFICDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Controller with daily, weekly, and monthly financial tasks
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable with accuracy and timeliness
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card activity, and vendor accounts
- Assist with payroll preparation by collecting and verifying timekeeping data
- Maintain organized financial files and digital documentation
- Help track budgets, monitor expenses, and prepare variance reports
- Prepare and distribute internal financial reports as needed
- Assist with month end and year end closing processes
- Support internal and external audits by gathering required documentation
- Review invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports for accuracy and compliance
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding financial inquiries
- Uphold financial policies and internal control procedures
- Provide general administrative support to the Finance Department
- Perform other finance related duties as assigned by the Controller
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: Previous Finance experience is a plus
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, high-volume environment
- Must be able to maintain positive, respectful relationships and work effectively with all internal and external constituencies, including employees, community leaders and senior management.
- Must have highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
