Shopoff Realty Investments is looking for the absolute best and brightest to join our team of dedicated professionals as a Senior Accountant at our home office in Irvine, California, where you’ll play a key advisory role supporting corporate entities, property accounts, and owners’ personal financial activity. - You’ll exercise independent judgment, interpret GAAP for complex transactions, and help shape accounting policy and financial strategy.
- From corporate to property to personal accounts, you’ll oversee diverse accounting operations and ensure accuracy, compliance, and integrity.
- Collaborate directly with the VP of Corporate Accounting & Family Office, the Controller, CFO, and cross‑functional teams.
- You’ll manage special projects in financial modeling, system enhancements, and process optimization.
- Prepare journal entries and analyze/reconcile accounts monthly.
- Produce and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for trusts, private companies, credit funds, and individuals.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls.
- Oversee cash management, including cash flow forecasting, bill payments, and coordination with financial institutions.
- Lead communication with external auditors and tax advisors; finalize audit schedules and resolve technical inquiries.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes with the finance team.
- Provide expert guidance on financial implications and accounting treatment for business decisions.
- Maintain organized, standardized electronic filing and documentation systems.
- Manage special projects focused on modeling, systems, and process improvements.
- Deep knowledge of GAAP and internal control frameworks.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, including comfort presenting to executives.
- High integrity and discretion with sensitive financial information.
- The ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with multiple deadlines.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Real Estate or Family Office experience is a plus.
- Strong general ledger and month‑end/year‑end close experience.
- Yardi experience preferred.
- CPA is a plus but not required.
