Job DetailsThe stated pay range is based on a national‑average location. Actual salary is determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills and location. This position is bonus eligible. Candidates and associates may be asked to travel to corporate offices for interviews, training and/or meetings. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
Managing Actuary, Corporate ActuarialThe Managing Actuary, Corporate Actuarial prepares actuarial analysis for senior management’s understanding of current and strategic endeavors. They address the need to provide company‑wide analysis of expenses, financial projections, experience analysis, oversight of financial statement results, and support M&A activities. They coordinate annual reserve testing and annual financial planning. They also assist the valuation actuary as a key resource to any tactical or strategic projection.
Responsibilities- Coordinating enterprise actuarial projections for financial planning and reserve testing.
- Directing experience analysis supporting principles‑based reserves, cash flow testing, and pricing activities.
- Supporting the company’s assumption setting, ensuring strong controls and supporting effective governance.
- Coordinating 10‑K, actuarial memorandum, and consolidated reporting for valuation and corporate actuarial functions.
- Maintaining and enhancing rating agency models.
- Assisting with company expense analysis including the development of appropriate expense assumptions for modeling needs.
- Partnering closely with business and IT teams to develop and maintain data solutions, defining key requirements and advising management on appropriate solutions.
- Managing and coordinating company reinsurance analysis and oversight.
- Supporting staff development of actuarial expertise, financial acumen, and technical skills.
- Coordinating annual stress testing analysis.
- Are familiar with interest sensitive products.
- Have prior experience with financial reporting and disclosures.
- Have prior experience with actuarial reserve testing.
- Understand reinsurance concepts.
- Have strong communication skills (verbal and written), including strong presentation skills.
- Possess strong project management skills and have high attention to detail.
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or equivalent.
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) required.
- Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant actuarial experience.
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) preferred.
- Previous Management experience is preferred.
- Prefers a minimum of 3 years of relevant actuarial modeling, financial reporting, and experience analysis.
- Prior experience with SAS, Python, and Git Hub preferred.
