The Swiss National Bank, as an independent central bank, pursues a monetary policy that serves the interests of the country as a whole. It ensures price stability and thus helps to create the conditions for favourable economic development.

The International Policy Analysis unit prepares background documentation, analyses and research papers on issues relevant to the SNB. The place of work is Zurich.

• Preparing background documentation on international economic policy matters with a focus on the Swiss external sector and developing the SNB’s position in these areas;
• Conducting independent analysis, as well as writing and publishing research papers on external sector issues of relevance to the SNB;
• Advising bank management on all issues in this area of responsibility and preparation for international meetings.

• Doctorate in economics, preferably with a focus on international macroeconomics;
• Research experience and strong interest in international macroeconomic issues;
• Outstanding analytical and editorial skills;
  
  Expertise in the application of statistical and econometric methods as well as experience in analysing large datasets;
• Excellent command of spoken and written English, as well as very good German or French language skills.
