About the department:

ING’s Loan Distributions Group (LDG) sits within its broader Capital Markets & Advisory division and is responsible for providing financing solutions for clients across the Americas. LDG focuses on the origination, structuring, underwriting, and distribution of syndicated loans across identified corporate and project finance industry portfolios.

About the position:

The LDG Associate will be fully integrated into the team, supporting the Project Finance sector which includes Energy, Telecommunications & Media (TMT), Infrastructure, Transport & Logistics, Mining, Metals and Fertilizer, Real Estate, and Healthcare.

The role blends both analytical and transaction‑execution responsibilities, including timely updates of internal databases, preparation of market trends and liquidity analysis for presentations and memos, support on pitch preparation and general assistance on deal activity across the primary and secondary loan markets. Additional responsibilities may be added based on performance, skills and learning progression.

Primary Responsibilities:

Primary Market – Origination & Execution
  • Support the origination, structuring, underwriting and distribution of syndicated credit facilities across LDG’s targeted sectors in the Americas.
  • Closely and continuously monitor and interpret market trends, including market participants, pricing, structures and liquidity dynamics – and prepare market updates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Actively contribute to client pitch materials covering market conditions, structural recommendations, and syndication strategies for optimal execution in the syndicated loan capital markets.
  • Partner with ING Sector Coverage groups to design market‑based financing structures and capital raising solutions.
  • Participate in the execution of syndicated loans – supporting the negotiation of term sheets, mandate letters, and loan documentation; managing of deal data sites, preparing Confidential Information Memoranda (CIM), lender presentations, Q&A and other marketing materials; and active coordinating with banks, advisors and law firms.
  • Prepare syndication advices to support approvals for primary loan distribution, including market analysis, opinion on credit structures, bank appetite assessment, sell‑down strategies, and pricing recommendations.
  • Prepare transaction materials in support of ING‑led financings.
  • Maintain and update LDG’s internal databases for the targeted sectors including deal activity, investor participation, and sector financing trends.
  • Timely produce accurate presentations for both internal and external distribution.
  • Develop and maintain relationship with loan investors and peer institutions to gather real‑time market intelligence.
  • Collaborate on internal initiatives and cross‑bank special projects.
  • Organize bank meetings, lender calls, and other marketing activities to support syndication and investor engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with ING policies and governance requirements as well as accurate financial and revenue reporting.
