Retirement Plans Lead Payroll Analyst

Position . Remote USA (Ameritas HQ is Lincoln, Nebraska, United States).

Job Description

This position is responsible for overseeing the processing and reconciliation of payroll files and associated deposits on all plans. The incumbent will also serve as the primary contact for all technical related questions and issues within the payroll team.

This position is remote (within the U.S.A.) and does not require regular in-office presence.

What you do:
  • Co‑lead a high performing team as a subject matter expert (SME) by providing guidance in resolving payroll related issues and escalations.
  • Coach and develop associates to foster a culture that ensures a cohesive team environment that will build long‑term loyalty between Ameritas/Partners and our customers by achieving and/or exceeding departmental standards and persistent goals.
  • Develop new technical skills and expand knowledge of our systems and record‑keeping software to find better ways to service our clients and adapt to system changes and upgrades.
  • Download, reconcile, and track receipt of deposits for payroll files submitted by plan sponsors and vendors via the web.
  • Process payrolls and execute trades via Relius record‑keeping system.
  • Resolve issues related to payroll processing including employee/employer contributions, loan repayments, under‑ or over‑funding, eligibility, statutory limits.
  • Complete all year‑end processing requirements to close the plan year including final reports, transactions, and census updates.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with plan sponsors, following up as needed on any outstanding payroll items.
What you bring:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3‑5 years of 401(k) experience required.
  • 5‑7 years of 401(k) experience preferred.
  • Intermediate Excel skills required.
  • Reluis proficiency preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of STATA preferred.
