To realize the envisioned impact on reform, we must successfully create and execute our financial strategy as well as manage our day-to-day finances. The Finance Manager will help create a pathway to sustainability by working with operations, grant managers, and schools to improve processes and tools to produce actionable, timely and accurate financial statements and analysis.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Develop a deep understanding of the organizations funding models, state and federal education funding sources, key expense drivers, and optimization opportunities. With the Director of Finance, oversee financial strategy, planning, and analysis, including. Oversees and guides the budgeting process for schools and the Home Office. Works with department heads and senior management to ensure strategic alignment with organizational goals.
Enhances budgeting tools and identifies process improvements. Manages grant budgets and funding projections. Assists in preparing grant proposals and ensures compliance with funding guidelines. Plays a larger role in strategic fund management. Preparing quarterly forecasts and presenting to management and the board. Modeling strategic opportunities, such as new schools, facility financing, regional expansion, and grant applications Standard and ad hoc analysis and reporting of financial and operational aspects of the organization for management and the Board of Directors Responsible for managing and implementing a wide variety of strategic planning projects by working with multiple departments aimed at improving organizational efficiency and seeking creative solutions to some of the organization’s most challenging issues.
Assess current financial and accounting processes and identify areas for improvement, including streamlined processes that reduce time and errors from manual data entry and allow more time for value-adding analysis. Oversee development of detailed and interactive multiyear projection models consisting of Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flows on an individual school as well as organization-wide level, used to build annual budgets and forecasts.
Develop deep understanding of Finance Team’s service and work with school administrators and business managers to ensure the highest quality of service is achieved. Additional duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS As an ideal candidate you:
have bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience have a minimum of 4-8 years in finance or accounting, including oversight of financial planning and analysis. are experienced in managing projects. drive strategic decisions with a mix of financial and operational data analysis. have an excellent ability to develop and manage financial models and systems that provide actionable data and can be maintained and improved by staff.
are creative and thoughtful about how to manage financial behavior. maintain positive relations with colleagues at all levels, including senior leadership, central office staff and school-site administrators and staff. can simultaneously manage multiple projects while maintaining a firm grasp of individual project details. are dependable, humble, have a sense of humor, and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot’s mission and the communities we serve.
will need to pass a TB test and background check at the time of offer.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The starting salary range for this role is $90,000 - $100,000. Please note that candidates who are new to their role or newly promoted can expect offers between the minimum and the mid-point of the range. To allow for salary progression over time, offers at the top of the range are rare. Individual education and experience will be considered when issuing offers.
