Lexington National is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with a background in Property & Casualty insurance to join our finance team at our Cockeysville, Maryland home office. This position reports directly to the CFO and plays a critical role in financial reporting, statutory compliance, and accounting operations.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of accounting experience within a P&C insurance company and a solid understanding of statutory accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with SAP
- Assist with preparation and filing of statutory financial statements, including NAIC filings
- Support the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors and regulators
- Perform account reconciliations and detailed variance analyses
- Assist with premium, loss, and expense analysis
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes
- Work closely with the CFO on special projects and financial initiatives
- Ensure compliance with insurance regulatory requirements and reporting deadlines
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience within a Property & Casualty insurance company
- Strong knowledge of SAP
- Experience with NAIC statutory filings, regulatory reporting, reinsurance, and premium taxes
- Proficiency with Sage and Microsoft Excel
- CPA or CPA-eligible
- Experience with surety, warranty and surplus lines
- Prior interaction with insurance regulators and auditors

- Base salary range: $85,000 – $115,000 annually, determined in good faith and commensurate with experience and qualifications
- Eligibility for performance-based bonus compensation
