The Opportunity
As an Associate Regional Director
, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies focused on coaching advisors on financial planning, investment management, practice management and client acquisition within your geographical area. In partnership with a Regional Director and Regional Consultants, you’ll educate advisors to help them grow their wealth and financial planning businesses, including making introductions to subject matter experts in home office.
Financial products by themselves are worth little; financial advice for a client and the people and causes they care about are worth everything. Our mission is to enable advisor practices, agencies, and Mass Mutual to thrive in the advice, planning, protection and investment management market by coaching to solutions and expertise that:

- Guides advisors and clients through advice that helps them achieve their financial goals
- Helps clients grow wealth through wise investing
In partnership with the Regional Director, you’ll develop and execute a strategic plan for your geographical territory, supporting the field in achieving their Wealth Management goals. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Tactical execution of written plan in each agency
- 1x1 advisor coaching and support for novice and high potential experienced advisors to grow their wealth and financial planning business
- Conduct regular coaching program advisor focus groups for high potential wealth advisors, and support bootcamps as necessary
- Execute WM sessions at Field conferences (Mass Mutual Academy, Career Development School, etc.)
- Deliver agency training on key concepts including: 6 Step Financial Planning Process, Client Service Models, Client Engagement Frameworks, Product Sales Conversations, Net Flows Strategies, Advisor Book of Business Assessments and Action plans for advisors, including practice management approaches for asset management
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or HS Diploma with 10+ years of experience working in the investment management and financial planning space
- 5+ years of sales experience selling investment management and financial planning products & solutions
- 2+ years of experience working and developing in-depth knowledge of insurance, wealth management and any associated products and services
- Ability to travel upwards of 50%
- Due to the nature of the position, as a part of our background check process, candidates must be able to pass a non-registered fingerprinted background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA
- Must reside in one of the following states: TX, OK, KS, CO, NM, AZ, UT, WY, MT, , NV, OR, WA, CA
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Economics or other similar degree
- FINRA Licensing - Series 7 at time of application
- FINRA Licensing - 66 (or 65 + 63) at time of application
- Deep understanding of the issues facing financial advisors as small business owners
- Understands Financial, Wealth and Insurance Products and the demands these disciplines place on an advisor practice
- Proven sales across multiple products
- Strong presentation skills in both live and virtual formats
- Self-motivated team player with a consultative and collaborative mindset
- Problem solver with strong business acumen and interpersonal skills
- Can vary their communication style between either coaching or consulting based on the demands of the situation
- Ability to clearly communicate nuanced concepts and navigate sometimes complex interpersonal dynamics
- $80-100K base salary plus sales-based incentive opportunity resulting in a total target compensation package of $125-200K
