Freshpet is seeking an experienced D365 F&O Solutions Architect – Finance to join our technology organization and serve as a senior finance systems leader. This role is responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, and support of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance (and related systems) supporting accounting, finance operations, controls, and production-related finance in a manufacturing environment.
This is a highly collaborative role that partners closely with Finance, Accounting, Operations, Audit, and IT leadership to ensure systems are scalable, compliant, and aligned with business growth.
This is a hybrid or remote position depending on candidate’s location. Candidates who are within a commutable distance from one of our Freshpet offices (Bedminster NJ or Bethlehem PA) will be onsite (on average) 3 days per week. 15% travel will be required for remote candidates.
What you will do- Serve as the Finance domain subject matter expert and business partner for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
- Design and deliver end-to-end finance solutions supporting:
- General Ledger, AP, AR, Fixed Assets
- Cash & Bank Management
- Budgeting and financial dimensions
- Cost accounting, inventory valuation, and production-related finance
- Identify business improvement opportunities, lead fit/gap analysis, solution design, and configuration of D365 Finance modules.
- Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to ensure system design aligns with:
Internal controls, Audit requirements, Manufacturing and production finance needs. - Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes and related system activities.
- Design and maintain financial posting logic, dimension structures, and reconciliation processes.
- Collaborate with IT and external partners on integrations with upstream and downstream systems.
- Provide advanced (Level 2/3) production support, troubleshooting complex finance and posting issues.
- Participate in release management, testing, and validation to ensure financial integrity during upgrades and enhancements.
- Produce and maintain clear, audit‑ready documentation for system configurations, processes, and controls.
- Act as a key liaison between IT and business stakeholders, translating financial requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience supporting enterprise financial systems in a manufacturing environment.
- 7+ years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and/or D365 Finance, supporting:
Finance and accounting functions, Production‑related finance and inventory accounting. - Experience with at least two full‑cycle ERP implementations, including one D365 Finance implementation.
- Strong experience partnering directly with Finance, Accounting, and Audit teams.
- Highly effective communication skills and proven experience collaborating effectively with business stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with business stakeholders to identify development opportunities while developing/maintaining roadmaps.
