Step into an instrumental role on a growing team at Transcendent Wealth, a Private Wealth Advisory Practice of Ameriprise Financial, Inc. We’re looking for an organized, detail‑oriented individual to help support the smooth operation of a fast‑paced—and friendly—financial planning office.

In this role, you will assist with daily business operations, complete assigned tasks, and contribute to seasonal projects, enabling the advisor team to focus on client acquisition, strengthening client relationships, and delivering a referable client experience.

As a Financial Planning Specialist, you will collaborate closely with advisors to enhance the overall client experience. Your responsibilities will include coordinating and tracking client service requests, preparing and organizing materials for client meetings, completing post‑meeting follow‑up, managing scheduling, supporting account maintenance, and monitoring new business activity. This role provides meaningful exposure to the planning process while contributing to the operational excellence of the practice.

Career Path – This role serves as a developmental stepping stone for future advancement within the practice. A successful Financial Planning Specialist may progress to Licensed Paraplanner, Associate Financial Advisor, and ultimately Financial Advisor. Advancement requires passing the SIE, Series 7, Series 66, and the Life and Health Insurance exam.

Position Functions and Responsibilities
  • Assist with account management – Handle account opening, maintenance, money movement, trading, and other administrative duties.

  • Perform operational tasks – Support financial advisors with allowable duties to enhance business efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate client records – Review, gather, and update client information in preparation for client meetings.

  • Document Management – Ensure secure and accurate storage of documents in accordance with company and compliance policies.

  • Provide client service support – Manage and resolve client issues to ensure a seamless client experience.

  • Coordinate scheduling and meetings – Manage calendars, prepare for client meetings, and ensure timely follow‑ups.

  • Assist with client communication – Phone coverage and client communication as needed.

  • Manage data entry and review – Keep records organized, accurate, and up to date.

  • Support practice‑wide projects and campaigns – Assist with seasonal initiatives and practice wide operational efforts.

Responsibilities and Time Allocation – Will change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can include other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager/Advisor.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full‑time, in‑person position based in Harrisonburg, VA. The role is expected to be on‑site five days per week, with remote work permitted only in limited circumstances at the advisor’s discretion. Company benefits include 401k plan with matching using the Safe Harbor Formula, vacation/personal leave, paid holidays, other group benefits.

Compensation:
Starting salary range: $56,500 - $65,000 annually.

Testing Coverage

Will reimburse for study materials and cover exam fee for sitting for one round of each SIE, Series 7, Series 66, and the Life and Health Insurance exam. Study time can be discussed and reviewed with the Operations Manager/Advisor.

Preferred Qualifications

An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
