Description
Associate Director will work directly with senior originators to help connect private businesses at all stages of their lifecycle to a full spectrum of tailored Capital Markets solutions, investment banking capabilities, transition advisory, and industry expertise. Associate Director will train, manage, and monitor work product of Analysts and Associates and oversee the creation, maintenance, continued improvement, and production of high‑quality templates to promote consistency of appearance and delivery across Capital Markets.
They will work directly with senior originators to identify opportunity specific ideas, insights, industry comparable analysis, financial modeling, and ensuring all are summarized in concise, illustrative, and persuasive presentations and support all of Huntington’s regions and industry verticals while remaining committed to delivering holistic advice and bringing creative thought leadership around business transitions, complex capital structuring, and Regional Institutional Capital initiatives to drive new opportunities and relationships for Huntington.
Huntington Capital Advisory will serve as the advisory conduit between local Commercial coverage, Capital Markets, Capstone, CSG, and Wealth whereby the group champions knowledge advancement of bankers—bridging the business and personal needs of our clients to assure optimal outcomes and success and is highly coordinated with Huntington Bank’s Leveraged Finance Execution team, Sponsor Coverage, Investment Bank, Capital Markets, Wealth, and local Commercial Bankers to drive new revenue growth by delivering Huntington’s balance sheet and advisory services in support of these transactions.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Contribute to pitch meetings and new business development discussion
- Anticipate needs for upcoming meetings of senior bankers’ schedule and pipelines
- Working knowledge of specific industry/products and demonstrate fluency in Capital Markets activities across product
- Identify potential transaction opportunities
- Demonstrate ability to problem solve real-time and identify and communicate transaction issues requiring resolution
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Capital Markets
- FINRA Series 79, 63, or other necessary combination
- Experience working closely with Debt and Equity Capital Markets groups, including, Syndicated Finance, High Grade Bonds & Private Placements, Leveraged Finance & High Yield Bonds, Syndicate Sales & Loan Sales & Trading, and Equity Capital Markets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels and externally with clients.
- Excellent attention to detail, self‑starter with intellectual curiosity and ability to share and summarize industry research and products.
- Strong client‑facing skills with the ability to build trusted relationships.
- Progressive thinker and problem solver, with a strong ability to manage ambiguity & complexity and anticipate organizational demands.
- Work effectively in teams as well as independently across multiple tasks, pitches, internal approval screens, cash flow / enterprise value models, while meeting aggressive timelines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to embrace change, constructively negotiate constraints, and effectively leverage resources to create exceptional outcomes.
- Consistently model and inspire high levels of professional demeanor and integrity and mentor junior colleagues.
