Artha Networks Inc. (ANI) is seeking a Climate Finance Consultant to support its partnership with an intergovernmental organization. The role involves developing an investment-ready forestry-based project in Cambodia aimed to lower carbon emissions and improve livelihoods. This position requires a practitioner who can effectively engage both local stakeholders and global investors, while leading the project development and ensuring high integrity outcomes for communities and ecosystems.
The consultant will focus on designing and structuring financing solutions, advising on carbon finance pathways, and assessing financial viability. They will support project screening and transaction advisory, working closely with local communities and implementing partners. Moreover, they will contribute to outcomes-based financing mechanisms and support investor engagement related to the project’s demand in Asia.
- Lead the design and structuring of project-level financing solutions.
- Advise on carbon finance pathways, including feasibility and monetization strategies.
- Assess financial viability and ensure high integrity outcomes for communities and ecosystems.
- Work with Artha Networks to package projects into investor-ready opportunities.
- Support the development of financial models and investment memoranda.
- Engage directly with local communities and cooperatives to align financing structures.
- Advise on benefit-sharing mechanisms and community governance considerations.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of outcomes-based financing mechanisms.
- Advise on MRV frameworks that meet investor requirements and international standards.
- Support investor outreach, engagement, and strategic discussions.
- At least 7 years of experience in climate finance, carbon finance, or related fields.
- Experience in structuring, advising on, or closing climate/carbon-related investments.
- Field experience working with communities or local enterprises, preferably in Asia.
- Strong understanding of voluntary carbon markets and nature-based solutions.
- Ability to bridge technical, financial, and social dimensions of climate projects.
- Ability to work independently in a decentralized organization.
- Experience in Southeast Asia or familiarity with results-based finance mechanisms is highly desirable.
