Position: Billing Systems Analyst I

This role is available for a hybrid remote work schedule. More details will be discussed at the time of interview.

Position Purpose

Manage the rates and rate structures within the CIS, including updating rates, building and testing new rate structures, and auditing to ensure accurate customer billing. Integral in the analysis and testing of system changes to ensure high integrity of billing data. Maintain and update the Billing criteria table for new general ledger accounts along with Account Codes and Balance Breakdown Codes.

Assist in setting up third‑party supplier information for accurate and timely billing. Support Sundry (unregulated) billings to include producing weekly invoices and monthly summaries.

Principal Accountabilities

85% Manage all rate table structures and potential changes in the CIS per the key internal control documentation which ensures that all rates for all the five companies are accurate and complete. Consult with the Rates Process Lead along with the Reconciliation Process Lead for CIS system changes, testing and monthly financial reporting as required to ensure billing and financial results are timely and accurate.

Verify the accuracy of all rate changes after the rate changes have been implemented into the live environment. Perform rate check analysis monthly to ensure all rates within the CIS are correct when reviewed against the approved tariff. Review financial related processes and system functionalities and recommend improvements to maximize the effectiveness of billing and revenue reporting. Work with Information Systems to ensure bill print/presentment is showing as expected on customer bills.

Work with system programmers and other company personnel as needed to initiate approved recommendations.

5% Responsible for producing weekly invoices and month‑end summaries. Assist other departments to include but not limited to Plant Accounting and DOC’s with Sundry related questions.

5% Provide analysis and support to ensure high degree of financial integrity within the CIS. Support the implementation of aggregations from a rate and billing accuracy perspective. Proactively seek billing enhancements and effectiveness from a system and auditing perspective.

5% Oversee and coordinate with Energy Supplier Services Coordinator, all external supplier enrollment and un‑enrolled accounts in CIS to ensure accuracy before the accounts are released for billing.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 1‑3 years’ analyst or industry related experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High degree of analytical and logical problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent PC and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to perform required responsibilities in an accurate and timely manner
  • Must have the ability to work within strict time frames to meet month‑end deadlines
  • Must be available to work extended hours as assigned, possibly at secondary locations, in response to System emergencies
