Director of Finance

Halfdays is an outdoor apparel brand for the modern woman with a mission to make outdoor sports more approachable, inclusive, and fun.

You will operate as a peer to the Controller and Director of Inventory & Planning, ensuring clear ownership across accounting, inventory execution, and financial strategy. You are equal parts modeler, business partner, and operator who can build financial rigor without slowing momentum.

• Own annual budgeting in collaboration with the Controller and rolling forecast processes across all channels.
• Build and maintain long-range financial models and scenario plans.
• Translate growth initiatives, pricing decisions, and headcount investments into clear financial impact assessments.
• Partner with leadership to evaluate tradeoffs and allocate capital effectively.

• Own short- and mid-term cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
• Model working capital needs in partnership with Inventory & Planning.
• Support lender reporting, covenant tracking, and financing strategy.
• Prepare materials for fundraising, debt conversations, and board reporting.

• Develop contribution margin frameworks across DTC, wholesale, and emerging channels.
• Analyze marketing efficiency, customer economics, and promotional performance.
• Create decision-ready dashboards and performance reporting for leadership.
• Identify risks and opportunities impacting revenue, margin, and cash.

• Own financial narrative and board-ready materials in partnership with leadership.
• Align closely with the Controller to ensure actuals and forecasts remain tightly connected.
• Collaborate with Inventory & Planning without owning SKU-level forecasting or OTB execution.
• Serve as a trusted financial thought partner across Growth, Product, Retail, and Wholesale.

• Does not own month-end close, GAAP financial statements, audits, or tax compliance (Controller).
• Does not own demand forecasting, SKU-level planning, or OTB management (Director of Inventory & Planning).
• Does not manage day-to-day transactional accounting operations.

• 5 to 8+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, consulting, or investment-related roles.
• Experience in a high-growth consumer, apparel, or inventory-driven business with external capitalization of various types.
• Advanced financial modeling and scenario planning expertise.
• Strong communicator who can distill complexity into clear insights.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building scalable financial systems.
• Commercially minded with strong business judgment and ownership mentality.

• In-office in Denver with flexibility to work from home periodically.
• Collaborative, fast-paced, and deeply cross-functional.
