VP of Finance and Controller

We are engaged in a search for a Controller for an outstanding non profit, trade association in Washington, DC. This hybrid position will report to the CFO of this outstanding, mission driven organization.

As the Controller, the person hired will lead the Finance and Accounting team, ensuring success in various accounting activities and audits. This is a visible role within the organization so the person must have excellent professional communication skills, orally and in writing.

The Controller will be ensuring accurate financial accounting in compliance with US GAAP, proper financial documentation, efficient processes, and strong internal controls instills confidence within the accounting team and the organization. Additionally, the hired candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Chief Financial Officer by managing operating cash flow, overseeing investment activities, and driving the strategic financial planning and budgeting process.

• 10-15 years of experience, non-profit and public acct foundation.
• BS/BA Accounting degree or equivalent with Master's.
• CPA Required
• Experience in a 501(c)(6) organization preferred required.
• Ideally, big 4 audit or other public accounting experience.
• Sage Intacct preferred. Additionally Workday and Anybill experience a plus.

This hybrid position requires the Controller (once up to speed) working 3 days a week in the office, the remaining 2 are work from home. This company is Metro accessible and comes with an excellent benefits package and 401k match. The client is moving quickly for this hire.
