The Director position includes cultivating, stewarding, and soliciting planned gift donors and prospects; engaging them in philanthropic conversations that effectively consider their charitable goals, family needs, assets, tax considerations, and optimal planned gift instruments; and encouraging and assisting them with making planned and complex outright gifts. The Director will use their specialized gift planning knowledge to evaluate and manage donor’s expectations, goals, and financial situations in order to recommend optimal gifting options.
Qualifications- A strong desire to help and impact others (donors) in achieving their philanthropic goals.
- A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales, finance, or related field. A preference is given for candidates with an advanced degree or certification such as, Certified Financial Planner (“CFP”), MBA, JD, CPA, or CSPG.
- Proven ability to assist donors in closing gift plans at the six- and seven-figure levels.
- Ability to simplify complicated concepts in writing and verbally.
- Comfortable with technical conversations involving financial or legal concepts.
- Ability to develop creative options to present to an audience – provide choices.
- Possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Someone self-motivated, articulate, people & goal-oriented, and can work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining poise under pressure, and work as a team member or independently as needed.
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Professionally presents oneself.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity about information and documentation.
- Proficient in MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and can readily learn CRM software.
- Ability to travel for training, conferences, and donor face‑to‑face visits.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Minimum five (5) plus years of proven success in charitable gift planning or in related fieldds of technical sales, charitable estate planning, financial planning, or real estate
- A preference for candidates with an advanced degree or certification such as:
Certified Financial Planner (“CFP”), Charitable Estate Planner (CEP), MBA, JD, CPA or CSPG
