Fiscal Support Analyst (Accounts Payable)
Position Summary The Fiscal Support Analyst (A/P) is responsible for performing a variety of fiscal related tasks that are industry standard or support duties within an assigned department or program. This includes, but is not limited to, processing vendor invoices, managing payments (checks, ACH, wires), reconciling accounts, and maintaining financial records to ensure punctual and accurate payments are conducted. The position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in data entry, and effective communication with internal and external parties to support financial operations and compliance.
The role is governed by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy and requires financial confidentiality.
- Perform timely and accurate data entry for invoices and general ledger posting.
- Process department or program checks, ACH, and wire requests.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and statements.
- Maintain accurate financial records that support transactions.
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing procedures.
- Support audits by compiling necessary documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP, state and federal laws, and agency/institutional policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and workflows then communicate findings with management.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners.
- Analyze data and reconcile errors.
- Establish and preserve fiscal reporting strategies, systems, reviews, and audits for quality assurance.
- Utilize internal and external Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems to assist in financial reporting.
- Contribute to other fiscal related outcomes, as assigned, such as payroll, purchase orders, budgets, etc..
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Foundational knowledge of GAAP, state and federal laws, and administration of Higher Education.
- Diverse skills in software applications.
- Passion for customer service and Higher Education.
- Demonstrate effective communication, writing, and time management.
- Willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of the organization and administration of higher education.
- Knowledge of state, federal, and university rules, regulations and procedures.

Education and/or Experience
- Formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree.
Education and/or Experience
- Degrees in accounting, finance, or other business‑related field.
- Previous experience in Accounts Payable.
- Prior exposure to Higher Education.
- Experience with Banner ERP, accounting software, or AP automation tools.
