Position OverviewThe Accountant will oversee all aspects of the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and strategic visibility across the organization. This individual will manage day-to-day accounting functions while also providing financial analysis and insight to support executive decision-making and long-term growth.
This is a high-impact, full-time role ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple financial workflows — including internal operations and project-based consulting engagements.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily bookkeeping and general ledger management
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, vendor payments, and reconciliations
- Maintain and optimize accounting systems (Quick Books Online, Xero, or similar)
- Develop and manage internal budgets and financial forecasts
- Monitor cash flow and provide strategic recommendations
- Track and properly categorize consulting-related expenses
- Coordinate payroll processing and contractor payments
- Prepare financial reports and performance analysis for executive leadership
- Support tax preparation and collaborate with external CPA firms
- Develop financial dashboards and KPI reporting (profitability, margins, client performance)
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial best practices
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not required)
- 3+ years of accounting experience (professional services, consulting, or law firm experience strongly preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in Quick Books Online and Excel
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management
- Experience independently managing reconciliations and month-end close
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fully remote, high-accountability environment
- Experience supporting law firms or legal-service organizations
- Familiarity with consulting or project-based billing models
- Ability to analyze and report on financial KPIs (client profitability, gross margins, cost per acquisition, etc.)
- Knowledge of multi-state payroll and contractor compliance
