CalPERS seeks a Financial Accountant III, Health Accounting Section Leader in the Financial Reporting and Accounting Services Division, Pension Accounting Section.

Under the direction of the Financial Accountant IV, the Financial Accountant III functions as the manager for the highly complex and specialized health accounting for employers, current, and pensioned members. The incumbent plans, supervises and directs the operations of the Health Accounting Section, which includes the Health Accounting Unit and the Member and Health Collection Unit. The manager directs staff performing the most complex and unique accounting transactions, ensuring that risks of error are mitigated.

The manager establishes and maintains health accounting for current and pensioned members’ transactions in People Soft Financials and myCalPERS, as well as other automated tools.

Telework Information:
The position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite per week.

Effective July 1, 2025, the California Department of Human Resources implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025), which provides a 3% reduction in pay for 5 hours of leave credits per month. Salary ranges listed do not reflect this reduction.
