Under the direction of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) in the General Fund/Federal Fund Reporting Unit, the Associate Accounting Analyst will perform as a staff specialist assisting the Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) with highly complex fiscal activities that have multifunctional and/or multi‑geographical impact. This position will be responsible for completing highly complex fiscal activities relating to federal funding, including the complex monthly, quarterly, and annual federal reports for five formula grants and three discretionary grants.
The position is also responsible for the complex accountability, cash management, and financial reporting of all federal funds of the Department; various Special Funds; and the Statewide Cost Allocation Program (SWCAP) transfers. This position will work with internal and external auditors in regard to the federal funding and grants.
The majority of the work will take place in an office setting in a DOR open office, offsite community, at events, and/or at approved alternate work locations. The incumbent must be able to work in an office setting for up to 40 hours per week, remain at a workstation for extended periods while utilizing a personal computer and other office equipment.
Telework is available as a hybrid, in‑office/telework position; incumbents must live and work in California and may be required to report to the office or any designated location at any time. Telework agreements can be modified or cancelled at any time.

Desirable Qualifications- Experience with FI$Cal, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
- Above average knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel
- Experience developing written procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to be flexible in a complex environment with multiple priorities, and work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to research, analyze data and source documents, and arrive at sound conclusions and appropriate actions.
