The OpportunityAltus Group is currently looking for a manager to join our Singapore office in our Valuation Advisory Services, APAC business. The successful candidate will manage a team of 7 based in Singapore. The Manager will be responsible for managing the daily workflow through interaction with clients, subordinates and supervisors. Responsibility includes the quarterly valuation process of institutional real estate funds, which includes managing all aspects of the valuation management process & real estate investment vehicles.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:- Manage a team and the delivery of projects/engagements to the highest quality of service and technical excellence.
- Conducting reviews of external third party commercial real estate valuations across APAC.
- Reviewing market data and applying judgement to determine reasonableness of valuations assumptions used in deriving a Market Value opinion.
- Analysing and reviewing ARGUS, FORBURY and/or MS-Excel based valuations models for accuracy and reasonableness.
- Review work by junior staff before it is sent to clients or third parties, and provide daily supervision, direction, coaching and mentoring to junior staff.
- Discuss and resolve any concerns with clients and third-party appraisers.
- Manage client communications throughout the valuation management engagement. Create and review portfolio metric presentations.
- Advise new clients on setting up the valuation management process.
- Set procedures for training of clients and third parties as and when required.
- Develops relationships with clients and other industry participants and is accessible and responsive to client needs.
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- University degree in real estate, finance, or related field is required.
- Fully qualified, MRICS or equivalent professional qualification.
- Fully versed in IVS/RICS Global (Red Book) Valuation Standards.
- 8+ years commercial real estate valuation experience, with any current or prior exposure in a valuation firm (e.g. CBRE, JLL, C&W, Knight Frank, Savills) being a plus.
- Expertise with financial modelling skills for commercial property type in ARGUS Enterprise, FORBURY and MS-Excel.
- High level of integrity and intellectual curiosity, and strong communication skills.
- Strong project management skills: setting team/client deliverable goals, managing deadlines, creating plans and evaluating results, communicating at-risk tasks.
- Experience with client deliverable life cycle and proven record of successful management of client deliverables.
- High attention to detail.
- Languages:
Fluency in English with any other additional Asian languages being an advantage.
