Financial Manager
Position Overview
The Senior Controller will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls across a multi-entity environment. This role will play a key leadership position in driving process improvements, consolidations, and financial strategy while supporting a growing organization.

- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, reporting, and financial close processes
- Lead consolidations and financial reporting across multiple entities
- Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Oversee and support annual audits and ensure audit readiness
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and operational efficiencies
- Maintain compliance with nonprofit and regulatory reporting requirements
- Oversee tax-related filings, including Form 990 and other regulatory reporting
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting leaders, and team members
- Provide guidance, coaching, and performance management across the team
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing remote work environment
- Partner cross-functionally with finance leadership and operational stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of accounting/finance experience with progressive leadership responsibility
- Prior experience in nonprofit and/or education sector (required)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
- Demonstrated experience with consolidations, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Experience leading and managing remote or distributed teams
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Advanced Excel skills
Preferred:
- CPA designation
- Experience with ERP implementations or system upgrades
- Familiarity with school finance or education-related funding models
