Your Role and Working Environment

Are you ready to kick-start your career in a fast-paced, high-impact environment, within a truly international and inclusive team working on real transactions from day one? We are looking for a highly motivated Interno to join our Debt and Capital Advisory (D&CA) team in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

At ING, we believe that diverse perspectives drive innovation. Our D&CA team is a vibrant mix of professionals from various nationalities and backgrounds, united by a shared passion for finance and client impact. We foster an open‑minded, collaborative culture where everyone is encouraged to contribute and grow.

As part of ING’s Corporate Finance division alongside Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Equity Capital Markets (ECM), Financial Institutions (FI) Advisory, and Private Equity Advisory, you’ll be at the heart of live, high‑impact transactions in which our team plays a key role in delivering strategic financing solutions to clients across the globe.

What You’ll Do

From day one, you’ll be treated as a valued member of the team. You’ll work on challenging, real‑time transactions that often make headlines, gaining exposure to:

  • Debt advisory and transformational financings (bank debt, bonds, private placements, equity, and hedging)
  • Cross‑border projects in collaboration with colleagues in Frankfurt, Brussels, Madrid, Milan and London
  • A wide range of sectors and deal types, including M&A, bond issuance, refinancings, large‑scale investments, and restructurings

You’ll support the team with financial analysis, pitchbook preparation, and execution support, while developing valuable hard skills such as financial modeling, developing a view on a company’s capital structure, credit analysis, and transaction execution.

At the same time, you’ll build essential soft skills, including structured thinking, communication, teamwork, adaptability, and stakeholder management, that are critical for a successful career in finance. You’ll be immersed in a fast‑paced, international setting that will challenge you to think critically, work independently, and grow rapidly.

Our Team Culture

We are a diverse and inclusive team of approximately 20 ambitious professionals in Amsterdam, and we value curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning. We believe in empowering our interns with responsibility and trust, and we’re committed to helping you grow both personally and professionally.
