About the RoleThe Sustainable Investments (SI) team at CalPERS is seeking an Investment Officer III to significantly contribute to the system's commitment to climate solutions within its private markets portfolio and advance the CalPERS mission.
Duties and Responsibilities- Assist CalPERS' asset classes in underwriting energy transition-focused funds and/or climate solutions co-investments.
- Map the private climate solutions investment landscape across relevant asset classes.
- Support tracking, measurement, and reporting of the private markets portfolio's climate solutions exposure to contribute to CalPERS' climate and performance goals, accountability, and transparency efforts.
This position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing up to two remote work days per week with three or more days onsite.

Desirable Qualifications- At least 5 years of prior professional investment experience.
- MBA or an advanced degree in business, finance, or a related technical field, or a professional certification (CFA, CPA, CAIA).
- Portfolio management experience.
- Knowledge and interest in sustainability and ESG.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
