Zurich North America is hiring an AVP & Actuary to join our team! In this role you will oversee the pricing of the Captives and Direct Markets business areas. We are open to hiring remote talent, however, hybrid with a presence in the Schaumburg North American Headquarters is preferred.
Key Accountabilities- Provides pricing support and advice to the relevant actuarial business partners, including insights into risks, underlying performance and implications for the business. Assists in the training of less experienced personnel.
- Under minimal supervision, support the pricing of new/renewal business and development of effective premium/rating structures in complex environments and lines of Business.
- Collaborate with BU Leaders to identify opportunities to do deep dive analyses to support the Business Unit's profitability and growth goals and lead the effort to complete the deep dive.
- Provide actuarial analysis to assist Business Unit Leaders with setting and executing the strategic direction through processes such as the Country Underwriting Plan and Tiering
- Support Market Facing and Product Underwriting on pricing decisions.
- Provide consultation and technical expertise on actuarial models and risk issues.
- Take a lead role in pricing accounts, performing risk transfer analysis, and reviewing collateral Needs.
- May interact with external customers and clients through the pricing of large, complex products and individual accounts.
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates Degree OR
- Bachelors Degree AND
- 8 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus FCAS or equivalent international certification OR
- 13 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus ACAS or equivalent international certification
- Experience in multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, capital management) and knowledge/skills reflective of a senior practitioner
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in programming and automation (e.g., Python, R, SQL, VBA) to develop, maintain, and enhance actuarial pricing models and analytical tools.

The proposed salary range for this position is $ - $, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%.
