Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tax and Compliance Accountant to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in handling federal and state income taxes across multiple jurisdictions, with a strong background in calculating deferred tax liabilities and assets. This role requires a self‑starter who can work independently and efficiently.
The position is remote during normal business hours, with overtime required during month‑end close and near filing deadlines. This is not a flex‑time position.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with preparation of annual Federal and state tax returns and any other required filings.
- Review and assist in filing annual Federal and state tax returns.
- Manage and review calculation of payments for Federal and state estimated quarterly payments.
- Manage SKsoft’s relationship with third‑party accounting firm and provide all tax‑related schedules and details for preparation of annual returns.
- Analyze and reconcile all tax‑related GL accounts.
- Update and maintain Secretary of State registrations.
- Review and approve monthly sales tax returns.
- Research and resolve sales tax and income tax questions and issues arising from customers, new products and changes in state laws.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations.
- Prepare and analyze tax reports and related support for financial statements.
- Assist in tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely tax filings.
- Other duties as assigned.
- CPA certification required.
- 3-5 years of experience in federal and state income tax across multiple jurisdictions.
- Proven experience in calculating deferred tax liabilities and assets.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing tax laws and regulations.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
