This is a corridor‑scale financial architecture seat with equity in Freelancing Factory for the right candidate.

About Freelancing Factory

Freelancing Factory is a non‑development, audit‑safe, micro‑prime execution engine supporting federal agencies, municipalities, and corridor‑scale industrial partners. We operate at the intersection of:

The CPA will serve as the financial architect for:

  • Freelancing Factory (micro‑prime operations)
  • The Dirigo Renewal Endeavor (corridor‑scale economic OS)
  • Multi‑entity industrial, digital, and sovereign‑stack projects

This role blends traditional accounting, Gov Con compliance, corridor‑level financial modeling, and strategic advisory across a rapidly scaling ecosystem.

This is a hybrid role based in Maine with flexibility for partial remote work.

Key Responsibilities Financial Architecture
  • Build and maintain multi‑entity financial systems across the DRE corridor
  • Oversee general ledger integrity, reconciliations, and multi‑entity consolidations

Gov Con Accounting & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS‑adjacent principles, and federal audit standards
  • Support micro‑purchase, SAP, and subcontracting financial workflows
  • Maintain audit‑safe invoice ontology aligned with IRC §162 and IRS Notice 2023‑63
Tax Strategy & Preparation
  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax filings
  • Advise on tax‑efficient structuring for corridor‑scale initiatives
  • Support R&D‑exempt, non‑development financial classification
Operational Finance Leadership
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closes
  • Build cash‑flow systems for multi‑entity operations
  • Support audits, due diligence, and capital raises
  • Advise leadership on financial strategy, risk, and compliance
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work with operations, HR, legal, and corridor leadership
  • Support financial reporting for industrial, digital, and sovereign‑stack projects
  • Provide clear, actionable insights to non‑financial stakeholders
Qualifications Required
  • Active CPA license (or near‑term eligibility)
  • Mastery of GAAP, financial statements, and multi‑entity accounting
  • Strong tax preparation experience (individual + business)
  • Ability to build and interpret complex financial models
  • Experience managing deadlines in fast‑moving environments
  • Exceptional clarity in written and verbal communication
Preferred
  • Gov Con, municipal, or public‑sector accounting experience
  • Experience with SaaS‑enabled or tech‑driven environments
  • Familiarity with corridor‑scale or multi‑entity financial operations
  • Background in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, energy, etc.)
  • Experience with audits, capital stacks, or economic development finance

About the Mission

This role is for someone who wants to build something bigger than a balance sheet — someone who wants to help co‑architect the fiduciary infrastructure of a sovereign, anti‑fragile, water‑free compute, Maine‑anchored economic corridor.

If you want to be part of the team building Maine’s next century of economic sovereignty, we want to talk.

  • Dirigo. Maine builds.
