Position: Cash Service Specialist I - Remote in FL, GA, AL, SC, NC, TX, CO

Summary/Objectives

It is the responsibility of the Cash Services Specialist to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of their assigned position. Through collaboration with Consumer Banking and other Operational teams, a Cash Services Specialist II provides technical and managerial support for cash related services for ATM, Branch, commercial customers, and all cash service providers. This position is responsible for cash management, transportation efficiencies and cash optimization across the bank’s footprint, monitoring vault levels to ensure optimal inventory, minimizing cross‑shipping exposure, and ensuring all cash vendor vaults are balanced and discrepancies resolved immediately.

The specialist must stay apprised of new technologies, develop and document internal processes, and maintain strong written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Functions
  • Provides customer support to Consumer Banking to ensure cash service needs are fulfilled.
  • Possesses cash management skills to forecast, order and deliver cash for the bank’s ATM fleet and all branches across the SSB footprint.
  • Forecasts and monitors cash flow, ensuring vault inventories are maintained at optimal levels while minimizing cross‑shipping exposure.
  • Serves as the liaison between Consumer Banking and cash service providers to coordinate efforts in preventing interruptions in branch cash service.
  • Monitors General Ledgers related to branch and ATM cash, researches outages and brings them to resolution while keeping management apprised of potential financial loss.
  • Acts as a line of defense to identify potential cash vendor or FLM fraud.
  • Assists with development and maintenance of departmental documentation on process and procedures.
  • Assists with testing and validation for system upgrades, enhancements, or other changes as needed.
  • Performs audits of physical vaults, ensuring vendors meet operational, safety and security procedures as detailed in master service agreements.
  • Assists the ATM team with all ATM moves, adds, and changes, ensuring cash is handled securely and parameters are properly set in EPOC.
  • Ensures all SOX, Compliance, Audit and OCC regulation and controls are met and no repeat findings are reported.
Competencies
  • Knowledge of managing ATM and Branch cash flow, including vault inventory, cash orders, and shipments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem‑solving, time‑management, and sound judgment skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills appropriate for interaction with senior management.
  • Skilled at navigating Windows, SharePoint, Microsoft Suite, and cash management software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high‑priority tasks and shift priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent work experience required.

Minimum Experience

• Two years of banking experience with a focus in cash management, ATM balancing, and general ledger reconciliation.

• Two years of experience with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.

• Experience in managing projects.

• Advanced analytical skills and strong problem‑solving and root cause analysis skills.

• Vendor management experience.

Training Requirements

Required annual compliance training and new employee orientation.

Physical Demands

Large amount of time spent in front of a computer, primarily sitting or standing at a desk.

Work Environment

This position may be remote or located in a cubicle environment. Remote workers must have a secure home office free from background noise and distractions, with a reliable private internet connection (preferred cable or fiber).

Travel

Minimal travel may be required.

Compensation

In accordance with Colorado law:
Colorado pay for this position is anticipated to be between $49,863.00 – $79,653.00, actual offers determined based on applicant’s skills, experience and education.
