Job Summary

The Grants Administrator is responsible for expert management of the grants portfolio pre- and post-award, coordinating all aspects of grant administration to ensure smooth implementation of grants, from application to close-out.

Required Qualifications
  • BS/BA in a health, human services, administration, or finance field.
  • Master’s degree in management, finance, accounting, public administration, or related field (preferred).
  • 6 years (8+ preferred) of grant proposal development and administration experience with federal, state, and local funders.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding fiscal management of funds.
  • Strong project management and communication skills with ability to broker buy‑in, frame complex situations, and present options.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication, meeting facilitation skills.
  • Strong data gathering, analysis, and budget analysis skills.
  • Ability to develop and sustain working partnerships with funders, partners, auditors, and CHC staff.
Key Responsibilities
  • Pre‑award: Coordinate grant application process, facilitate concept development meetings, prepare proposal budget and assemblies, manage proposal submissions.
  • Post‑award: Review awarded grants, coordinate kickoff activities, monitor health of grants monthly, work with accountants, compliance officer, and program staff to ensure accurate reporting, budget alignment, and compliance.
  • Coordinate end‑process activities including reporting, facilitation of carry‑forward requests, and close‑out documentation.
  • Year‑round: train and coach program managers, directors, and investigators; maintain grant database; support needs assessment; develop policies, procedures, and tools; plan communications and analysis on the grant portfolio.
