Our client, a growing specialty finance company in the recreational lending space, is expanding its underwriting team to support increased loan volume across multiple regions.

This role is based in Tysons Corner and works closely with senior leadership on credit decisions, deal structuring, and risk analysis.

The Role

This is a hands-on underwriting position focused on consumer loans tied to dealer-originated business. You will evaluate applications, assess risk, and structure deals that balance growth with sound credit decisions.

This is not a checkbox underwriting role. Independent judgment and the ability to think through deals is critical.

Schedule (Important)

• 4 weekdays: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM (supports West Coast volume)
• Saturday: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Hybrid: 3 days in office (Tysons Corner area)

This schedule is firm. Candidates looking for traditional 9-5 hours will not be a fit.

What You'll Do

• Review and assess consumer loan applications for credit risk
• Structure loan terms based on borrower profile and collateral
• Make recommendations on approvals, conditions, and pricing
• Handle stipulations including income verification and collateral validation
• Partner with senior underwriting leadership on deal strategy
• Support dealer relationships by turning deals quickly and accurately

What They're Looking For

• 5+ years of consumer loan underwriting experience
• Background in banking, indirect lending, or consumer finance
• Experience evaluating collateral (auto, RV, marine, or similar)
• Ability to make independent credit decisions in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have:

• Experience in recreational lending
• Dealer-based or indirect finance background
