Washington State University’s College of Arts & Sciences is hiring a Fiscal Officer/Management Analyst to perform a broad range of complex, sensitive, and confidential financial functions requiring independent judgment, ensuring accuracy and accountability across financial operations while managing multiple deadlines with exceptional attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee assigned budget functions, ensuring responsible allocation and stewardship of resources.
- Develop and monitor program budgets, analyze financial performance, and reconcile accounts.
- Coordinate or manage programmatic financial activities and support fiscal staff across multiple units.
- Provide financial guidance, analysis, and fiscal advice to the Director and unit leadership.
- Advisory on Workday financial processes and communicate updates related to university policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a related field and three (3) years of directly related experience; education and experience may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Strong computer skills and experience using MS Office, particularly Excel, and databases.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, travel, personnel, cost analysis, and budget planning.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices, budget development, financial management, and internal controls.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
- Financial analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and knowledge of state and federal laws/regulations pertaining to fiscal management.
- Experience with a higher education system and familiarity with an enterprise resource planning software system, personnel processes, budget experience, and fiscal processes.
- Knowledge of Washington Administrative Codes (WAC), Revised Code of Washington (RCW), and WSU University Policies and Procedures.

Salary & Employment
Monthly Salary: $5,598.67 – $7,569.55 (commensurate with experience and qualifications). The position is full‑time (100% FTE) and permanent; overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement. The role requires on‑campus presence and may be eligible for a hybrid schedule with up to two days of remote work per week, and is listed as a 12‑month term.
