Accountant; Exempt

Responsibilities

• Oversee the tracking, reporting, and processing of payroll
• Provide leadership to payroll specialists and troubleshoot issues
• Maintain payroll accounting journals in Workday
• Track remote workers outside of Montana to ensure proper tax setup
• Maintain manager provider bonus accruals
• Reconcile and audit payroll balance sheet accounts
• Reconcile benefits, deductions, payroll taxes, and annual payroll reports
• Report payroll statistics to management, federal, and state governments
• Assist the accounts payable team with processing and reporting
• Develop and maintain financial records, including journal entries, monthly financial statements, and related reports
• Reconcile accounts and gather and report financial data
• Support implementation of activities related to the annual external finance audit and independent third‑party or regulatory audits
• Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines, maintain accuracy, and handle constantly changing situations
• Handle a variety of people, stressful situations, and conflict
• Perform all job duties or tasks as assigned
• Follow and adhere to requirements, regulations, and procedures of licensing boards or agencies
• Comply with all Benefis Health System organization policies and procedures

• Two years of accounting‑related work experience
• Two years of finance or accounting education
• An equivalent combination of accounting education and relevant work experience will be considered

Exemption Wage Non‑Exempt. Starting wage $26.54 per hour. Actual offered wage is based on applicable experience.
