AboutThe Role
KOHO is looking for a Director, Financial Risk to lead the strategy and analytics efforts within our financial risk management function. In this pivotal role, you will oversee both Credit Risk and Non‑Credit Financial Risk (including Market and Liquidity Risk), managing a team of people managers and experts to safeguard KOHO’s financial health while enabling sustainable growth.
Working closely with Product, Finance, Technology, and Data teams, you will lead a team of financial risk subject matter experts in the development and implementation of analytical frameworks that drive our risk decisions and ensure regulatory compliance. In addition to being the financial risk SME in the development of risk and valuation models, you will have end‑to‑end ownership for risk appetite metrics and loss forecasting, IFRS 9 provisioning, and portfolio monitoring.
You will also provide “effective challenge” and decision governance across the organization.
- Manage and mentor a high‑performing team of people managers and individual contributors across all Financial Risk domains.
- Foster a culture of rigorous analysis, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Decision Governance:
Establish and maintain robust decision governance frameworks for key business decisions with Financial Risk impact, ensuring that they align with KOHO’s risk appetite. - Effective Challenge:
Provide “effective challenge” on decisions impacting financial risk, such as model development and performance monitoring activities by Tech/Data Science, financial risk‑related inputs to stress testing provided by first‑line teams, or new product or marketing initiatives proposed by Product. - Risk Appetite:
Oversee and recommend the frameworks for assessing and measuring our financial risk appetite, lead the financial risk appetite approval process by senior leadership and the board, and lead the development and monitoring of the risk appetite metrics. - Policy:
