- Research and track updates to stay current on payroll and payroll tax regulations and laws, including federal, state, and local.
- Extensively analyze client pay data, tax reporting, and tax filing data to ensure accuracy while meeting client needs.
- Maintain up‑to‑date reporting and filing specifications for all tax agencies, including current supporting compliance documentation.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure HRIS systems and workflows remain legally compliant and operationally sound.
- Audit current operations for system enhancements and best practices.
- Recognize trends and patterns in HRIS/payroll to identify risk and provide solutions.
- Partner with external vendors on compliance updates and integrations.
- Apply updates proactively to internal processes.
- Provide guidance and communication to clients and internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to the latest payroll standards and laws.
- Assist with payroll tax preparation and filing, including federal, state, and local.
- Build tax reports for direct tax filing.
- Investigate and resolve tax discrepancies and notices.
- Provide customer support to Payroll Service clients.
- Support year‑end client training.
- Be well versed in tax reconciliation procedures and processes.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems and software.
- Working knowledge and understanding of internal specifications to maintain current HRIS and payroll systems software.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Certified Payroll Professional Certification (CPP).
- Seven years of compliance experience.
- Knowledge of payroll and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting principles.
- Experience with payroll systems and software.
