Company OverviewAlcool NB Liquor (ANBL) is a provincial Crown corporation responsible for the purchase, importation, distribution and retail activity for all beverage alcohol in New Brunswick. ANBL and its sister company Cannabis NB (CNB) return 100% of profits to the Government of New Brunswick.

About the Accounts Payable Analyst roleWe look for people whose values align with integrity, caring, trust, community and celebration. The role encompasses comprehensive subject matter expertise for accounts payable, including a thorough understanding of all transactions, associated business processes, charts of accounts and the end-to-end flow of journal entries. The position operates within a complex multi‑stream environment that includes product payables, EDI transactions, CNB related payables and non-product/service expenses.
Responsibilities include vendor reconciliations and timely business and customer support. The role requires a proactive approach to problem solving, frequent vendor coordination and effective cross‑system and currency work.
- Financial Accounting – Ensure transactions are complete, reliable and compliant with policies and legislation; maintain solid understanding of the chart of accounts.
- Reporting – Prepare internal and external reports and data requests to support Finance and leadership.
- Accounts Payable (SME) – Maintain accuracy of accounts payable including invoice and payment processing, foreign‑currency payments and commodity tax application. Resolve discrepancies promptly with vendors and partners.
- Vendor Reconciliations – Perform regular reconciliations and investigate/rectify discrepancies, including complex supplier accounts, multi‑currency transactions and high‑volume EDI invoices.
- Process Documentation – Review and update standards, processes and procedural documentation; identify recurring issues and recommend improvements.
- College diploma in accounting or equivalent.
- 2‑4 years of accounts payable or financial operations experience; preferably in a multi‑stream or high‑volume environment.
- Effective time management, organization and prioritization skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills, including experience with multi‑currency transactions.
- Customer service focus with the ability to collaborate with vendors and internal departments.
- Confidentiality and discretion.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Strong complexity management, verbal communication, action planning and accountability skills.
- Financial acumen to interpret key indicators for better business decisions.
- Bilingualism in both official languages required for one position and an asset for the remaining positions.
- The Retail Operations Centre is located in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
- Successful candidates must be based in New Brunswick; remote work is possible.
- Semi‑regular travel for meetings and project work may be required.
- $47,917 – $55,645
