A career as a Senior Analyst in the Operations mutual fund accounting team at National Bank means contributing to the achievement of various deliverables by working in synergy with your team. With your knowledge of financial statement, your experience in accounting and finance and your willingness to make a difference through your rigor and complicity, you’ll have a positive impact in a sector with complex activities helping to identify business issues and respond to the needs of various partners to support the delivery of important initiatives.
Your role- Identify and analyze the various financial instruments held within client funds
- Contribute to the preparation of Schedule of Investment required for financial statement reporting and participate in the validation of data included in risk disclosure tables
- Act as a subject‑matter expert and trusted advisor to sector management and business partners (external clients, TBN, and external auditors)
- Support the delivery of semi‑annual and annual (audited) financial reporting for external clients by recommending enhancements to existing processes and internal controls
- Collaborate on cross‑functional and sector‑wide initiatives with key parties
- Identify, document, and elevate issues, observations, and operational challenges encountered by the team in day‑to‑day activities
- Serve as a coach and mentor to less experienced team members
As part of the Fund accounting sector in the financial statements team, you’ll be in a team of 16 colleagues. Surrounded by experts in finance, accounting and taxation, we analyze and interpret the data to make the best decisions for our clients and partners. You will report to the Financial statements senior manager. Prerequisites- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of relevant experience or any other combination of education and experience considered equivalent
- CPA or CFA designation in progress
- Experience producing financial statements
- Knowledgeable about mutual funds and exchange traded funds
- Excellent communication skills, good time and priority management
