Sr Actuary, NF - Protected Retirement Product Development & Pricing Actuary

Nationwide, a Fortune 100 company with nearly $70 billion in annual sales, is looking for a Sr Actuary, Protected Retirement Product Development & Pricing to join its dynamic, cross‑functional team. The role focuses on innovative lifetime income solutions within defined contribution plans and involves product development from inception through launch.

• Collaborate creatively with functional areas to develop customer‑centric solutions.
• Assist in developing actuarial pricing assumptions (mortality, lapse, expense, distribution, etc.).
• Build and modify AXIS pricing models.
• Analyze pricing results, perform sensitivity tests and stochastic economic scenarios, evaluate embedded policy‑owner options and tail risk.
• Review competitive intelligence to support product design and charge structure.
• Assist with State and Federal Regulatory filings.
• Prepare Product Risk Committee and Senior Management communications.
• Provide strategic direction and knowledge for data compilation, financial reporting and analysis.
• Develop sophisticated testing tools and analyze product calculations.
• Construct, maintain and complete actuarial, projection & valuation models.
• Analyze risks and reinsurance for lines of business.
• Establish reserves under multiple accounting regimes (statutory, GAAP and tax).
• Build cohesive presentations and communication strategies for technical and non‑technical audiences.

• FSA credential required.
• Self‑motivated, ownership of projects and drive to completion.
• Strong analysis and problem‑solving skills.
• AXIS experience highly preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience of at least eight years in actuarial work rapidly growing product line preferred.

This role does not qualify for employer‑sponsored work authorization and does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program.
