** What You’ll Be Doing
** The Capital Markets arm of CIBC provides corporate, government and institutional clients with innovative solutions to help them raise capital and grow and invest actively throughout North America and key financial centres around the world. To deliver on its vision to be our clients’ preferred capital markets banking partner across multiple products and services, both in Canada and where our core competencies can be exported.

* The expected annualized base salary for this role is $100,000.
The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.
In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

** How You’ll Succeed
**** Research** – As Research Associate the incumbent will work closely with Research Analysts covering
** Metals & Mining
** sector. The Associate will develop a depth of knowledge in financial analysis, covered industries and the capital markets. In the role, they will gain valuable experience in gathering information, researching companies and industries leveraging primary, secondary and alternative sources, and recognizing and analyzing industry trends. The associate will also be active writing reports, as well as developing and maintaining financial models and databases and will assist in writing thematic reports.

The successful candidate will have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, will have a strong attention to detail, and will be very excel-proficient and financial-statement-literate.
** Client Focus** - In cooperation with the Research Analysts they will participate in regular calls with public companies to get direct data from the senior management teams, as well as ad hoc calls, meetings and industry events. The position also provides the opportunity to liaise with our Sales, Trading, Investment Banking colleagues and clients as required.

** accounting designation CA or CPA or an mining engineering designation combined with a CFA or MBA will be considered.
