Remote Underwriting Supervisor - DE, LAPP​/SAR

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Remote Mortgage Underwriting Supervisor (DE + LAPP/SAR) to join our dynamic team. As a Mortgage Underwriting Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in our mortgage operations, ensuring that loan applications are thoroughly evaluated for creditworthiness and compliance with industry standards. • Reviewing and analyzing loan applications and supporting documents to ensure they meet company and industry standards.
• Utilizing your DE and LAPP/SAR certification to endorse FHA and VA loans.
• Making informed decisions on loan approvals and denials based on thorough analysis and in compliance with company policies and federal regulations.
• Providing detailed feedback to loan officers and processors to ensure the mortgage process runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Collaborating with the loan processing team to resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the underwriting process.
• Keeping abreast of changes in policies and regulations that may impact the underwriting process.
• Assisting in training and guiding junior underwriters and other team members.
• Participating in regular team meetings and contributing to the overall improvement of the underwriting process.
• Supervising a pod of Underwriters in your area.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mortgage Underwriting Supervisor.
• DE (Direct Endorsement) and LAPP/SAR certification.
• Proficiency in underwriting FHA and VA loans.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage industry regulations and guidelines.
• Proven experience in reviewing and analyzing complex financial documents.
• Exceptional decision-making skills with the ability to make sound judgments under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work effectively within a remote team.
• Experience in a supervisory or team lead role would be highly advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in using mortgage loan software and other related computer applications.
