Sr Financial Underwriter, Employer Direct – Remote. United Health Group – Irvine, CA.

The Sr Underwriter will play an active role in achieving Optum Rx's sales and renewal financial targets with specific responsibility for the Employer Underwriting Team.

• Active role in New Business and Renewals RFPs through an in-depth understanding of Optum Rx and all competitors, industry trends, market dynamics and internal key performance indicators
• Working closely with internal teams, including sales, finance, proposal, legal and operations, to structure competitive deals
• Pricing support in acquiring new clients and retaining existing clients
• Communicate underwriting decisions effectively to key stakeholders
• Negotiate contract terms and conditions to achieve favorable underwriting outcomes
• Review and approve underwriting requests, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations

• 2+ years in financial pharmacy benefit management or other underwriting experience
• 2+ years of experience in financial modeling and data analysis
• 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools
• 2+ years of client-facing experience, problem-solving and decision-making skills including negotiating and consulting with clients
• 2+ years of financial analysis experience

• Proven solid business and financial acumen
• Proven excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams
• Proven effectively managing your time and prioritizing tasks to meet required deadlines

Salary range: $59,500 to $116,600 annually based on full-time employment.
