OverviewJOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities- Manage assigned accounts receivable portfolio to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
- Execute a high-frequency, multi-channel contact strategy to drive resolution of past-due balances, including firm verbal demands, written notices, and deadline-based follow-ups.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies, short pays, denials, credits, and unapplied cash.
- Review customer aging reports and prioritize collection efforts based on risk and balance size.
- Collaborate with the Relationship Managers, Sales, legal, and finance teams to resolve account issues.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of collection activities in the CRM and Net Suite.
- Drive payment commitments through structured negotiations, enforcing timelines and consequences for non-compliance while operating strictly within company policy and applicable law.
- Proactively initiate internal and external escalation paths (legal, executive, contractual remedies) for non-responsive or high-risk accounts, with clear documentation and recommendations.
- Push back decisively on delay tactics, partial payments, and unsupported disputes common in provider-side billing operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to collections and patient/customer billing.
- Support month-end close activities related to accounts receivable, as needed.

- Reduction in >90 and >120-day AR
- Percentage of assigned portfolio resolved or paid
- Speed from first delinquency to resolution

- Quality of escalation recommendations
- Assist with account reconciliations, clawbacks, and audit requests.
- Provide feedback on collection trends and opportunities for process improvement.
- Participate in cross-functional projects related to revenue cycle optimization.
- Training and
Experience:
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in commercial collections. Experience in wound care, healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or another regulated industry required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. - Knowledge, Abilities and
Skills:
Knowledge of collections best practices. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial documentation. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with internal teams and external customers. Ability to analyze account data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues independently. Demonstrated comfort delivering firm messages to senior clinical and administrative stakeholders. Ability to remain professional and persistent in adversarial conversations. Bias toward action and follow-through over consensus-seeking.
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Net Suite, CRM. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and confidentiality. - Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer. Manual dexterity required for keyboarding and use of office equipment. Occasional standing, bending, or reaching.
