Tax Liaison Senior - Fiduciary and Estate - Remote

As a Senior Tax Liaison within PNC’s Trust Tax Compliance organization, you will be based remotely within the PNC footprint. Work may be performed from a quiet, confidential space in a home location approved by PNC. This position may not be available in all geographic locations.

This role requires holding and maintaining either a CPA, Enrolled Agent designation, or a JD degree. If you do not hold one of these credentials, you must obtain one within one year of your start date.

• Coordinate with outside vendors who prepare tax returns to meet fiduciary compliance needs, provide information, consult on moderate to complex tax issues, and enforce PNC’s position regarding tax preparation and filing.
• Act as liaison between the outside vendor and internal front‑office personnel; review returns prepared by the vendor prior to filing or as part of quality checks.
• Prepare appropriate tax forms for filing with federal, state, and local jurisdictions as needed; perform secondary reviews of moderate to high complexity returns as requested.
• Review new accounts and code them for correct tax preparation; ensure proper setup in the tax preparation system; review trust instruments, wills, and other documents for correct reporting and taxation; review assigned accounts for generation‑skipping transfer tax issues.
• Assist outside vendors with tax notices, audits, and inquiries related to client accounts and work with vendor and in‑house or external counsel to resolve issues.
• Review client account activity, receipts, disbursements, death notices, corporate reorganizations, exchanges, and other corporate actions to ensure correct tax reporting by the vendor.
• Participate in in‑house and external training to enhance technical knowledge and maintain professional credentials and certifications.
• Serve as a resource for less experienced tax accountants on routine and non‑routine matters, including account setup, generation‑skipping transfer reviews, and account closings; perform secondary reviews of moderate‑to‑high complexity upcoming returns as needed.

• Trust and estate tax experience.
• Generation‑skipping tax review experience.
• Ability to analyze trust agreements for correct state filings and tax recording.
• Minimum of 2+ years of relevant professional experience and a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
• Certification: CPA (AICPA) or Enrolled Agent (IRS).
