Overview
Northern Trust, a Fortune 500 company, is a globally recognized financial institution that has been in operation since 1889. The Unitized Valuation Reporting Services (UVRS) department is part of the Global Fund Services Practice under Asset Servicing. The department supports large institutional clients by providing Net Asset Valuations (NAVs) and annual reporting in a timely and accurate manner. The focus of the role includes analysis, cash flow allocation, trading, and reconciliation of funds, and provides project leadership for managing client/investment change events.
Working Model: Hybrid. The successful candidate will spend time between working in the office and working from home.
Major Duties- Calculate, review, and initiate client activities related to cash flow and investment needs.
- Perform daily trading analysis.
- Research and resolve complex exceptions and coordinate corrective entries and preventative processes.
- Analyze payments and valuation impacts related to expenses.
- Lead clients change events including implementations, fund launches, mergers, corporate actions and fund closings by coordinating activities across multiple fund products.
- Maintain working action plan for events.
- Coordinate ongoing meetings between interested parties.
- Oversee daily investor activity and work with Institutional Fund Accounting and Daily Valuation Operations teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Communicate with client oversight teams and partner areas regarding client exceptions as needed.
- Act as a leadership resource or subject matter expert for Institutional Fund Accounting and internal partner areas.
- Identify service efficiency enhancements and process/service delivery improvements.
- Provide client service through the execution of daily functions and tasks.
- Understand and enhance desktop operating procedures and controls.
- Provide timely responses to queries and resolve issues to avoid repetitive actions.
- Work effectively as part of a team or as an independent, self-motivated individual.
- Manage multiple projects of varying complexities and cross-train on other functions as needed.
- Identify opportunities for improvement within existing technology applications and liaise with Partner areas to drive resolution.
- Independently build relationships with internal and client contacts.
- Understand client business needs and deliverables; act as the escalation point of contact for client issues or inquiries.
- Understand current Service Level Agreements (SLAs) related to job function(s).
- Establish, build, and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external partners.
- Engage other partners as appropriate to solve client inquiries/issues.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of financial services, asset management, and/or investment operations.
- Attention to detail.
- Works with a sense of urgency.
- A college or university degree and/or 4-6+ years of relevant work experience.
- Previous Financial Industry Operations, Asset Management and/or Investment Operations experience a plus.
- Previous exposure to business process and/or technology enhancement initiatives.
- Previous client service experience in a service-oriented environment.
