The Mortgage Loan Processor is a full-time, on-site role based in Merriam, KS, with a hybrid work option that allows some work from home. This role is responsible for managing mortgage files from application through underwriting and closing, ensuring that all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with company and investor guidelines. Day-to-day tasks include collecting and reviewing borrower documentation, verifying income, assets, and credit, ordering and tracking appraisals and title work, and resolving any conditions or discrepancies.
The Mortgage Loan Processor will communicate regularly with loan officers, underwriters, closing teams, and borrowers to provide status updates and obtain required information. This position also involves maintaining detailed records in loan origination systems, adhering to regulatory and internal policies, and meeting established timelines and service-level expectations.
- Strong knowledge of the Mortgage Industry and familiarity with current regulations and best practices.
- Hands-on experience in Mortgage Lending and Loans, including working directly with borrowers and lending partners.
- Proficiency in Loan Processing, including document collection, verification, and condition clearing.
- Exposure to or collaboration with Underwriting, with the ability to interpret underwriting conditions and guidelines.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in handling multiple loan files and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and customer-focused approach.
- Comfort using loan origination systems, document management tools, and standard office software.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Prior experience as a mortgage loan processor or in a similar mortgage operations role preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in finance, business, or a related field is a plus.
