Relationship Manager - TPA Customer Care; Retirement Solutions - Michigan

What You’ll Do

As a Relationship Manager within our TPA Customer Care area, you will develop and nurture deep relationships with advisors, unbundled plan sponsors, and third‑party administrators in the 10M – 200M market segment. You will serve as a strategic partner, offering innovative and tailored solutions to meet our clients’ business objectives, including retention, growth, and retirement readiness.

• Collaborate with the TPA, plan sponsor and the advisor on plan features, investments, retirement readiness, services and new opportunities.
• Conduct plan‑level health reviews.
• Problem‑solve complex issues.

• Bachelor’s degree or 8 years of equivalent experience required; 4+ years in the retirement industry.
• Must become an associated person of Principal Securities, Inc.
• Qualified plan knowledge and unbundled experience strongly preferred (Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution).
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, presentation, organizational and problem‑solving skills; outstanding interpersonal, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
• Assertive and entrepreneurial mindset.
• Travel required 25–50% (including day and overnight stays).

• Successful registration as an Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Limited Representative (FINRA Series 6 or equivalent and FINRA Series 63) within 5 months of employment (strong preference for full license).
• Resident Life and Health appointment must be attained.

Non‑sales positions: $89,300 – $171,600 per year. Sales positions may earn additional incentives that can significantly increase total compensation.

• Relationship Manager II: $89,300 – $139,700 per year
• Relationship Manager III: $104,400 – $171,600 per year

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried employees, allowing paid time away from the office for vacation, personal or short‑term illness. There is no fixed accrual or “bank” of time; you may use FTO as needed.

Pension eligible.

Michigan with regional travel expectations. You will have the ability to work from home when not meeting with clients.
